no , you need a sampler

  2. vendetta1414 Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

you need a audio interface with midi , and a midi keyboard (to play the
    instruments from the sampler) ,

  3. ollie rocker Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

so, this is all it doo’s.

  4. vendetta1414 Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

    try ebay . com

  5. Yeah_Sure Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

Eh, the Akai sample format and VSTi are totally different things and
concepts… One is a sample format and the other one is a VST software
instrument/engine. Granted, some VSTi’s are samplers, but, most are
instruments and have got nothing to do with eachother. So, it would be
interesting to know EXACTLY what you mean… This reminds me of people
asking about the difference between midi and audio/apples and pears/shit
    and gold.

  6. WorksopGimp Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

I bet you can make an S5000 sound like a S950 but it wont work the other
    way round.

  7. vendetta1414 Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

it’s only a sampler , you load sond and yo meke it like a sound module ,
but don’t hare an sequencer in it , you cand find old sampler cheap on ebay
    … (sorry for my english 🙂 )

  8. vendetta1414 Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

yes , you can control the sampler from the groovebox , and you cand connect
a midi keyboard to play instruments

  9. blitzbadger Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

All that technology to go “Duh!”

  10. vendetta1414 Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

i sold this sampler , and i put this video to show that it’s working fine
    …

  11. electronic Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

SUPER sampler, and a SUPER FX UNIT too!

  12. superspeedfreek Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

so what is the current price of one these go for?

  13. Yeah_Sure Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

Piss off, tragic, dilettante needledick! Get your facts right,
    wankerrrrrrrrrrrr…

  14. pushpull76 Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

OMG…..it’s a SAMPLER, one of the lasts of the Akai line. Try to find
S6000 on youtube, a little bit better machine.

  15. Yeah_Sure Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

it’s NOT the Akai… mine is as quiet as a mouse.

  16. Nathan Reeves Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

@castratedcanine its not the sampler. the only sound from them is if there
is a SCSI drive reading its a high pitch whine but barely audible. i like
how hes sampling duh duh duh dh

  17. kolakube123 Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

You must be kidding right??? I very much doubt he was going to try and
write a smash hit with this you tube example. Imagine how boring it would
be for us all to sit through him sampling himself 10 times.

  18. vendetta1414 Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

    a sequencer (sorry)

  19. gruponemesis Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

did you know you can convert all your VSTi’s to akai format…and use them,
instead of relying on your laptop live?? I just bought 1 on ebay for this
purpose…even after converting from 24 bit to 16 bit…no loss in
quality!!! I used Sound Forge for the dithering…amazing!!

  20. KitsuneDarkStalker Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

DOODOOO DOODOO DOOODOOOOO is the new black.

  21. vendetta1414 Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

i remember that the akai don’t have fans , or if it had , they must be
quite …. the sound in the backgroun its from the computer , and the
camera it’s cheap [sorry for my english]

  22. vendetta1414 Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

i sold this sampler , and i put this video to show that it’s working fine
    …

  23. Yeah_Sure Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

Omit the scsi-drive and have a scsi to USB lead going straight into your
computer. No need for noisy sampler-outboard stuff anymore or setting up a
chain with a hierarchy… transfer straight from your computer and do all
your management there too… and voila… gone is the “noise” of the scsi
    drives.

  24. castratedcanine Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

is that a computer in the background that’s so noisy or is it the akai
    s5000?

  25. fireball01e Nov, 18 - 2014 +reply

I have a Akai S5000 sampler. it can record in up to 16 channels (With
upgrade and sufficent memory), it can also play 18 diffrent channels back,
it has 8 channel digital inputs or 16 with the digital card upgrade. It can
also run from PC via the USB upgrade. It has full editing and
mixing/mastering effects. it has 2 set of midi channels, which i use with
my keyboard and sequencer (because this does not have built in
sequencer(why i dont know). Its a good unit, but i prefer my S4000 and my
    PC.
